Helping parents make informed decisions that align with their preferences and values is an absolute passion.

More about me

Hello and thank you for looking at my profile.

My name is Miri and I am a recognised Birth and Postnatal Doula and a Hypnobirthing instructor from Royston, working in Cambridge, surrounding villages around Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
My husband and I have three kids.  All of my births were very different and unique and I have learnt a lot from each of them. I had two hospital births and the latest was a very calm and relaxed home birth.

Giving birth is an amazing experience that should be sacred, beautiful and private, sometimes these can be over shadowed by discomfort, nerves, fear of the unknown and hospital’s staff and atmosphere; My aim as a Doula is to minimise all of the above. I can explain procedures and technical lingo and I’m there to provide physical and emotional support throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatal period.

I’m very passionate about the physiology and psychology of giving birth; this is why I became a doula. I love working with mums, mums to be and their families; as your Doula I will be providing you with support, knowledge and companionship through your most precious moments in life and I find it to be such a privilege to do so.
I believe that each woman has got the right to give birth the way she wants to. This is an experience that you will never forget and, therefore, it should be special and beautiful. I would like to help you achieve that.

As a Birth Doula I offer at least two antenatal visits in which we cover antenatal preparation and discuss your wishes, fears, your do’s and don’t s with regards to labour and birth. 24 hour on call support from 38 – 42 weeks, constant attendance during labour and birth and until you are settled after baby’s first feed, at least one postnatal visit, breastfeeding support, telephone and email support throughout and for as long as you need it.

As a Postnatal Doula I’m there to help you settle gently into parenthood, if it’s your first time or third, it makes no difference, I’m always happy to help. I will be there for practical support and, the sometimes, much needed, emotional support.

My passion is to spread the word about Hypnobirthing because I absolutely love it! As a Hypnobirthing mum and Doula I know how much it can help in preparation to the birth and during it.  I teach Hypnobirthing in groups (in Royston or in Cambridge or if a group of friends then at your chosen venue) or 1:1 private sessions at your home. If you would like to hear more about Hypnobirthing, please let me know, I’m always happy to come and chat about it and explain what it is all about.

I have experience with Hypnobirths, Natural births, Hospital births, Water births, Home births, Breech, Inductions, VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean), planned caesarean section and twins.

If you are interested in hiring a Doula, please contact me so we can organise an initial meeting (free of charge) so we can get to know each other and have an informal chat.

Testimonials

“Miri has been both our hypnobirthing tutor & doula. Words that better describe our experience are; compassionate, knowledgeable, reliable & instinctive. Miri always seemed to know how & when to give support, especially when times were hard & our journey to meet or son didn’t always go as planned. Her hypnobirthing classes gave us the tools we needed to remain positive in difficult moments. Even though we didn’t get the natural home birth we wanted due to complications, her presence as our doula empowered us to ask questions & reach decisions about the birth of our son that we feel happy & content with. Hiring Miri was the best first decision we made as parents x”

“As a French couple in UK we had no family to help us for the birth of my second son and that’s why we asked Miri to be our doula. Best decision ever!
Miri has been a tremendous help! Always here for us but not intrusive at all. She really listened to us in the sessions we had before the birth and she answered all our questions.
The day of the birth she was an amazing support to my partner and myself. And after that she helped a lot with the breast feeding.
Miri is a wonderful doula and I can’t express with words how grateful I am.”
